Notice the following quote:
"This unbroken lineage of spiritual teachers reaches back throughout time."
Does it really? I think the lineage breaks after one learns about fictional masters animated by copied, paraphrased and plagiarized texts. IOW, the lineage only remains "unbroken" after people literally believe the history fabricated by Paul Twitchell and Eckankar.
After looking at the evidence, I no longer believe in the said "unbroken lineage" that reaches back throughout time.
Where did this unbroken lineage of masters idea come from anyway? Is it the "Deep State" of religious thought? People hoping to control the masses by first controlling their minds and emotions?
Remember the failed West Roman Empire and how it ROSE FROM THE DEAD as The Holy Roman Empire?
Christianity wasn't accepted so much at first, but later it was? Why? Because the story moved people ?
I find it truly amazing how stories move people. How stories moved people to fight for them! Maybe that was the power a poor and downtrodden people had to overcome their most powerful enemies? Like an ancient form of mass media passed on through stories; embellished as they were. Like, How many people have fought and died for Christ? Fought and died for other religious leaders and / or religious movements?
Whether it was Krishna, Buddha, Christ, etc. the commonality was so many downtrodden, subjugated masses yearning to be free. Relatively speaking, they had no weapons to match the leading authorities in control. What they had perhaps were their own passions for a savior, and stories to that effect. Buddha supposedly renounced a life of privilege, prestige and riches. Jesus spoke against the money lenders, etc. IOW, people despised the 1 % to 10 % of those filthy rich corrupt and power hungry persons who controlled the masses! And like with most empires that never lasted beyond 500 years, the lowly common people somehow rose up to rival, or become stronger and overthrow the leading establishment.
Count how many Christian churches there were in the world and all the people who worshiped there. Or the Mosques. The Temples. Etc.
Someone here once wrote about the ability to control others. How that was in vogue among certain groups; even required for advancement within certain groups. Well, What greater means of control than deception? Like, the actual truth never controlled people so much as the corrupted truth of history. Did it?
Maybe all these religions were the results of subjugated people striving to regain the truth? Because look at the words of their ideal teachers. If the people didn't really have equality and the truth, Who is to say they didn't dream about it? Who is to say they didn't write stories about it? Stories that were literally taken to be true? BECAUSE SO MANY PEOPLE DESPERATELY WANTED THEM TO BE TRUE!
