Twitchell was telling Ruhani people in Seattle that Kirpal singh was appearing nightly in his bedroom giving him discourses on spirituality Radhasoami etc.

This was circa post 1955 .... at the same time letters back to Kirpal in India also claimed the same things were happening.

Twitchell was good at making himself the center of attention and big noting his "accomplishments" and then spreading the word about his many claims to fame.

A decade later a new name appeared supposedly doing what Twitchell claimed Kirpal's light body was doing aka rebazar tarzs.

when a good story connects with everyday people authors tend to reuse that idea in later "fictional works" with only slight changes.

Twitchell loved being the center of attention .. be it at school, at teachers college, the Paducah swimming pool and gym, as a new writer/poet and on and on it went like that.

Everyday people love compelling interesting adventure stories the best.

I believe a little bit that Twitchell has halucinated Kirpal in his bedroom but not Rebazar.

Henosis you are spot on about this. However, there is much much more to the personality you know as Paul Twitchell. To understand him you need not to look in from outside, but to look outside from inside him. The following is of particular importance. Firstly, as a youth he was aware of his cursed personality, the key points of which were (in modern language) bipolar syndrome and narcissism. As a youth the twin effects of these syndromes were almost disorientating. >>

Secondly, as an adult he gradually became aware of his past. In the last 2000 years he had been King Saul of Israel and later Saul of Tarsus in the time of Jesus. In both incarnations he suffered under the curse of bipolar swings (King Saul a good example of this), with the narcissism always making him uncomfortable as he could never find his perfect reflection.

He sought relief in buggery and lust. The curse that St Paul says he asked God to relieve him from was not malaria, but the lust he had for young Christian men.

Thirdly, the darkness that pulls one into a pit in severe bipolar syndrome was also seductive for him as a place to hide. It was in this state that he conducted his so-called spiritual seeking. He was actually trying to find the way out of his condition. As a departed spirit now, he still does not know the way out, despite his ability (extreme) as a magician. (Do not take these comments likely, the man/spirit is extremely dangerous if you give him cause, as Gross did).

The way out for Saul/Paul was in fact to lose the attachment to self-importance. In other words, to break the power of the narcissistic syndrome over him.

This syndrome is the key to bipolar syndrome, as it starts the cycle of false, inward looking personality that, experiencing failure, leads in the end to disintegration of the personality and resurrection of it through the self-assertion of the ego.

This is how Mr Twitchell looks from the inside, looking out. If you want to know the source, become attuned to the Holy Spirit, and It may choose to open these things to you.

If you think about it carefully, every eckankar member including the leaders must reflect Twitchell's personality as the creator of the group, as his construction of and spirit in the group drew them in. What is that reflection? It is the combination of narcissism and disintegratin <> self-assertion personality changes. These are the key drivers inside eckankar member personalities.

The only way to grow out of eckankar, as a syndrome in the psychic sphere, is to recognise these basic elements within oneself and the group. Then to accept them, understand they are illusory, and to lift out of them into greater being.

This is not a free choice BTW. Unless this is done, the member will, as the Kali Yuga progresses through lowering spiralling cycles to the end, be subject to that spiral. Not a pleasant fate to end the yuga being destroyed like that.

For these reasons, study of Twitchell as a way to understand the group is useful and necessary.
