The phrase "letter of truth" appears in The Key to Eckankar, by Paul Twitchell seven times. In Practicing the Presence, by Goldsmith, it appears 25 times!

So then, after all these years Eckankar tells the truth about Rebazar Tarzs? Or Eckankar parrots the words of Paul Twitchell? Look at the Eckankar Dictionary by Harold Klemp, along with what Harold said.
"Some people wonder if Rebazar Tarzs really exists. They ask if Paul just borrowed a name from the Far East and made him up. Yet people report having met the ECK Masters even before they ever heard of Eckankar. The ECK Masters are real."

Forget about other people. What about that "growing list" that Harold found back in the early 1980s? Like all of the plagiarisms brought to his attention that were credited to Rebazar Tarzs?
Here is part of the list from that book T.K.T.E. mentioned by Harold.

The whole of society fighting misinformation? How about it then? The "torchbearer of Eckankar" is a fiction? Only real in the minds of those who imagine?
Look at Harold Klemp's Eckankar Dictionary entry for Rebazar Tarzs: "The torchbearer of Eckankar ... ." (p. 173 - A Cosmic Sea of Words, The Eckankar Lexicon, by Harold Klemp) Paul Twitchell the "master compiler", when he copied numerous passages and plagiarized a whole host of authors, Did exactly what? after he claimed that Rebazar Tarzs was the single author? IMHO he did WAY MORE THAN PLAGIARISM.
I think the evidence suggests some fictional characters along with pseudo history to prop them up. Part of that pseudo history being the "stolen" words of various authors credited to fictional characters. The Living Eck Master, however, is NOT supposed to be a fictional character at back of a fictional religion. If any doubt, just look at the book Path of the Masters by Julian Johnson. One that talked about living masters. One source of Twitchell's plagiarisms.
IMO Harold Klemp MUST KNOW that Paul Twitchell plagiarized from at least one book by Julian Johnson, and that Paul credited Rebazar Tarzs instead!
"DID PAUL TWITCHELL BORROW FROM OTHER AUTHORS IN HIS WRITINGS?
"Yes. Paul Twitchell was a master compiler. Different religions held bits and pieces of the original ECK teachings, but they had attached their own conditions. For example, they said one had to be a vegetarian, or needed to meditate a given number of hours a day to be a true disciple of a given path to God. Earlier teachings drawn from the original ECK works were geared for the spiritual needs of earlier cultures.
"Paul’s task was to gather the time-tested, most accurate parts of what had been given in the past. He gathered up the golden teachings strewn around the world and released them from cultural trappings and social aims which limited their spiritual radiance. Paul reoriented these fragments to show the direct path home to God, making it readily available to all."

Cultural trappings? Reoriented? Is that how you say fabricated fictional characters and a religious history to boot? Fictional characters and fictional histories animated by copied, paraphrased and plagiarized texts. So much for an unbroken lineage of living masters!
