Problem with simply "ending the conspiracy" is that some apparatus is the only thing preventing total chaos. Seven billion cannibals taking what they want and doing as they please until knocked on the head and eaten by another.
It's already that way. Yeah. But the apparatus regulates that so it's only virtual haunch of you roasting over someone's campfire not actual haunch of you.
There's always going to be some apparatus. Tear everything down and it will just start again in some primitive form like it did, and build up. Like it did.

Also. Londinium used to have a wall around it with gates in the wall. When it expanded beyond beyond its walls, bars were placed across streets serving the same purpose as the gates in the wall had. Anyway, you had to be qualified to "pass the bar" that led to the Inns of Court so that's where that term came from.
