Eckankar members talk about plagiarism

Members and Ex-members talk(ed) about it for years; many who first denied it until the evidence became overwhelming and the leader of Eckankar (in so many words) along with Doug Marman, spoke about, wrote about and admitted it! Even the Minnesota Star Tribune mentioned it!

So clearly, Twitchell refused to credit his actual sources and teachers because he could not create / credit "his" Eckankar creation otherwise?

So clearly, Twitchell refused to credit his actual sources and teachers because he could not create / credit "his" Eckankar creation otherwise?

I think either that, or he did originally credit his actual sources until some person(s) advised, or encouraged him not to. Perhaps the same "they" as when Twitchell reportedly once replied "They'll be sorry." ? "They" being those who reportedly advocated for Eckankar becoming a non-profit religion.

It's all to easy to blame everything on Paul Twitchell, as if nobody else participated in the creation of what later became known as Eckankar; vs. Ekankar, etc.

IMO others knew about the fictions / pseudo history - Patti Simpson, Gail Twitchell (Gross) and Doug Marman chief among them - and continued building the narrative for years on end.

Gail Twitchell Gross, widow of the first two historically verifiable Eckankar leaders (Paul Twitchell & Darwin Gross) would / does surely know the truth.

When people then ask Eckankar clergy / leadership "Where is Gail now?" What are some of the "talking points"? Probably not: "Paul made the whole thing up."

If he made it up then so what? Like Marman might say. "What does it matter?" Well, IMHO it matters so very much only after so many attempts to deny, spin and / or cover it up!
